Terms of Service – CityX

Welcome to CityX! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CityX mobile application and related services (“CityX”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using CityX, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. About CityX

CityX is a hyper-local, interest-based platform that allows users to discover, discuss, and share information relevant to their city. Users can post time-limited content in various categories (e.g., Food, Events, Politics, Real Estate), interact with local communities, and buy/sell items via our in-app marketplace.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use CityX. By using the app, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
  • You are not barred from using our services under any applicable laws.

3. Your CityX Account

  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You agree to keep your login credentials confidential.
  • You may not impersonate others or use fake names/emails.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or any applicable laws.

4. User Content & Conduct

a. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of any content (posts, comments, images) you create. By posting, you grant CityX a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and improving the app.

User-Generated Content

You are solely responsible for the images, text, and other content (“User Content”) you upload to CityX. By uploading, you affirm that you own the rights to your content, or have permission to use it, and that it does not violate any laws or infringe the rights of others.

 Image Upload Rules

Users may not upload images that:

  • Contain explicit adult content, violence, or hate symbols
  • Violate the privacy of others (e.g., faces, IDs, license plates)
  • Misrepresent items or properties (e.g., fake or deceptive images)
  • Infringe on any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights
  • Promote or facilitate illegal activities

b. Post Expiration

Posts are automatically deleted after a set time (6 hours, 1 day, or 1 week) based on the selected post duration. This is a core part of CityX’s temporary content model.

c. Image Content That’s Not Allowed

  • Nudity, sexual content, or suggestive poses
  • Weapons, drugs, or dangerous items
  • Hate speech, racist symbols, extremist flags
  • Stolen product photos or watermarked real estate listings
  • Personal data: photos of people, IDs, contact info without consent
  • Misleading images that do not represent the item/property truthfully

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines at our discretion.

5. Local Marketplace

CityX allows users to post products or services they wish to sell. Interested users can voluntarily share their contact information with the seller to take the conversation forward outside the app (e.g., via call, SMS, or WhatsApp).

CityX is not a party to these transactions.

You understand and agree that:

  • Buyers and sellers are solely responsible for any transactions that result.
  • We do not verify listings or users.
  • We are not liable for any loss, fraud, or harm arising from marketplace interactions.

Please use caution and follow safe practices when meeting or transacting with other users.

6. License and Use Restrictions

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use CityX for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer or modify the app.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to extract data.
  • Interfere with app operations or attempt to gain unauthorized access.
  • Reproduce or distribute any part of the app without our permission.

By uploading an image, you grant CityX a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that image for the purpose of operating and improving the platform. 

Moderation and Removal

CityX reserves the right to remove any content at its sole discretion, with or without notice, if it violates our terms, legal requirements, or community standards.

Repeat Offenders

Accounts found repeatedly uploading prohibited content may be suspended or permanently banned. CityX also reserves the right to report illegal content to relevant authorities.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently disable your access if you:

  • Violate these Terms or any applicable law.
  • Post harmful or prohibited content.
  • Engage in behavior that disrupts the community or service.

You may terminate your account at any time via Settings > Delete Account. Your data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

CityX is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no guarantees regarding:

  • Availability, uptime, or functionality.
  • Accuracy or reliability of user content.
  • Safety or success of marketplace interactions.

We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, to the maximum extent allowed by law.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CityX shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Loss of data, revenue, or profits.
  • Issues arising from third-party services or offline interactions.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) to use the app in the past 12 months.

10. Third-Party Services

We may integrate with third-party services (e.g., maps, analytics, payment processors). We are not responsible for those services or their content. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users via the app or email of significant changes. Continued use of CityX after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [Insert City, e.g., Bangalore], India.
