CityX is a hyper-local, interest-based social platform that connects users within the same city to share content, ask questions, discover local insights, and buy/sell items. - Marketplace Interactions: If you post a product or item for sale, you may receive contact information from interested buyers. Buyers can optionally share their email or phone number with sellers.
- Invites: Email or phone numbers of invitees when you use our invite feature.

- Device Information: Device type, OS, unique IDs, and app version.
- Usage Data: App activity, engagement metrics, screen interactions.
- Location Information: City-level geolocation (not precise GPS data unless you explicitly grant permission).
- Log Data: IP address, timestamps, crash logs.
c. Cookies and Analytics
If you use any CityX web features, we may use cookies or local storage to help manage sessions and analyze usage patterns.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Deliver relevant local content and user experiences based on interests and city.
- Facilitate features such as posting, content discovery, and time-limited interactions.
- Operate the marketplace feature by enabling sellers to receive buyer contact details.
- Improve the app through analytics, bug tracking, and performance monitoring.
- Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
- Communicate updates, offers, and important service-related notifications to you.
- Our app uses the camera only for allowing users to upload photos. We don’t share or store data externally.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Marketplace Privacy and Responsibility
CityX allows users to post items or products for sale within their city. Other users may choose to share their contact information (such as phone number or email) with sellers.
- Providing contact information is voluntary and at the discretion of the buyer.
- Sellers may contact buyers using the information provided, outside the CityX app (e.g., via call, SMS, or email).
- CityX does not moderate, verify, or manage transactions or communications outside the platform.
- We are not liable for any disputes, fraud, or harm resulting from offline transactions or external communication.
We recommend all users follow best practices for safety and verification when engaging in offline exchanges.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information in limited cases:
- Service Providers: We use third-party services (e.g., AWS, analytics tools) to operate and improve the App. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: We may share information to comply with law enforcement requests or legal processes.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred to the successor entity.
We do not share your contact information with advertisers or external marketers.
5. Your Privacy Controls
You can manage your data in several ways:
- Update Interests anytime from your profile settings.
- Delete Posts manually or wait for them to expire (after 6 hours, 1 day, or 1 week).
- Delete Your Account permanently via Settings > Delete My Account.
- Manage Notifications via device or in-app settings.
- Choose Whether to Share Contact Info when interacting with marketplace listings.
Please be cautious when sharing any personal information publicly or directly with other users.
6. Data Retention
- Posts and content are stored only for their designated expiry duration.
- Account and usage data are retained as long as your account is active.
- We may keep backups and logs for up to 30 days for security and operational continuity.
7. Children’s Privacy
CityX is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.
8. Security Measures
We implement technical and organizational safeguards, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure cloud infrastructure via AWS
- Access controls and role-based permissions
- Regular security reviews and monitoring
While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. International Data Transfers
If you are located outside India, your information may be processed and stored in India or other jurisdictions. By using CityX, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data across borders as needed for the service.

- Delete your account and associated data
